Our COVID-19 Safety Measures

Learn how we’re safeguarding your health while delivering the same great dental care you know and love.

Your health, protected.

At Pleasant Hill Dental, health and safety are always among our top priorities.

We’ve always taken steps to provide a spotless care environment and look after the health of each and every patient, but with COVID-19, those steps have become doubly important. It’s why we’ve put new measures in place to protect you, our staff, and the broader community of Pleasant Hill.

For us, full compliance with all health regulations is just the start. We’ve taken things a step further with rigorous safety measures that go above and beyond.

How we're protecting you

Daily Staff Screening

At the start of each day, all staff members are required to pass a temperature check and fill out a COVID-19 screening form.

Physical Distancing

The waiting area is limited to 2 or fewer patients, while the front desk has been equipped with clear barriers for an added layer of protection.

Full Safety Gear

All treatment area staff have N95 masks, gowns, caps, gloves, and goggles/face shield, while front office staff have gloves and masks.

Regular Disinfection

Countertops, door handles, and any other surfaces touched by multiple people are sanitized after each patient leaves.

Professional Deep Cleaning

At the end of each day, a professional cleaning crew sanitizes the entire office to ensure absolute cleanliness.

Air Purification

Placed throughout the treatment area and front office, air purifiers work around the clock to rapidly remove any unwanted particles from the air.

What you can expect

Your appointment experience will be a bit different. Make sure you’re prepared!

With new measures and safety precautions in place, your visit to Pleasant Hill Dental will look and feel a little different than what you’re used to, so take a second to learn what you can expect.

Before you arrive

When you get to our office, make sure you have – and are wearing – a face mask before coming in. If you aren’t feeling well, let us know in advance and we’ll reschedule your appointment.

Once you come in

You’ll be greeted at the door with a big warm hello by a masked member of our team. They’ll provide you with a gentle sanitizer for you to clean your hands, then they’ll take your temperature using a contactless thermometer.

In the waiting area

Rules for physical distancing apply in our waiting area, so there’ll only be one other person in the room at most. As you’re waiting, you’ll fill out a screening form that will tell us if you’re feeling well enough for treatment. If you’re feeling thirsty, coffee and water are available by request.

While you’re being treated

On all procedures at least two of a rubber dam or Isolite, a Releaf dental vacuum, or a hand held high speed suction will be used to capture and remove any aerosols that are released during the treatment process.

After your treatment

When you’re all finished with your treatment, you’ll proceed to the front desk to conclude your appointment. For an extra layer of safety, we’ve set up clear barriers at the front desk, and we’ll provide you with hand sanitizer for one final cleaning before you leave.

Our Safety FAQs

Is wearing a mask mandatory?

Yes, a mask is required to be admitted into the office, and you’ll need to wear one while you’re in the common areas of the office as well. We recognize that it can be uncomfortable or inconvenient, but it’s a small sacrifice for the purpose of keeping everyone safe.

Oops, I forgot to bring a mask. Can you give me one?

We’ll try our best to accommodate you, but with the supply of masks being unstable at best, it’s best to assume that we won’t be able to provide you with a mask since we need to keep them on hand for our staff.

Is there a cancellation fee if I don’t pass any of the screening tests?

There’s no cancellation fee if you arrive for your appointment and we find that your temperature is unusually high or you’re showing signs of being unwell. We’ll just find another time to reschedule your appointment.
